ANTIMONIUM SULPHURATUM AURATUM

Antimonium Sulphuratum Auratum.

Golden Sulphuret of Antimony. Sb2S5.

Introduced by Glauber, 1654, and abused as a purgative and an emetic.

Proved by Mayrhoffer, in 1845; published by Buchner, in 1874.

MIND. [1]

Apprehensiveness with heaviness in precordium.

INNER HEAD. [3]

Pressive headache.
Burning in head. ~ Eye complaints.

OUTER HEAD. [4]

Reddish swelling behind right ear, leaving a redness and scurfiness.

SIGHT AND EYES. [5]

Amaurosis, in beginning.
Spots on cornea.
Iris protruding through cornea.

SMELL AND NOSE. [7]

Bleeding from nose on washing.
Increased mucus from nose and throat.

INNER MOUTH. [12]

Pasty mouth and taste in morning.

PALATE AND THROAT. [13]

Burning and heat in fauces.
Mucus from throat becomes offensive to smell.
Pressure in throat as if a plug stuck in it.
Scratching, rough feeling in throat in morning.

APPETITE, THIRST. DESIRES, AVERSIONS. [14]

Loss of appetite; almost a loathing of food.

SCROBICULUM AND STOMACH. [17]

Pressure and fullness in stomach.

ABDOMEN AND LOINS. [19]

Pressure, tension and fullness in abdomen; umbilical region sensitive.

STOOLS AND RECTUM. [20]

Passage of much flatus with sudden urging, followed by a stool solid at first, then bright yellow and pasty; afterwards violent colic and rumbling around navel.
Constipation; feces hard and passed with difficulty.

URINARY ORGANS. [21]

Urine increased, dark red.

MALE SEXUAL ORGANS. [22]

Pustular eruption on scrotum after much itching.

VOICE AND LARYNX. TRACHEA AND BRONCHIA. [25]

Accumulation of tough mucus in bronchi and larynx.
Increased mucous secretion with fullness in bronchi, and full, hard breathing.

RESPIRATION. [26]

Respiration difficult.

COUGH. [27]

Dry, hard cough, no expectoration.
Increased mucous sputum, mixed with blood, of a sweetish taste.

INNER CHEST AND LUNGS. [28]

Passive congestion of upper lobe of left lung, with dry, hard cough.

HEART, PULSE AND CIRCULATION. [29]

Heaviness in precordium and apprehensiveness.

UPPER LIMBS. [32]

Arms heavy in morning.
Boring and tearing in arms and hand joints.
Swelling of fingers.

LIMBS IN GENERAL. [34]

Itching on hands and feet.

NERVES. [36]

Malaise, fatigue and lassitude with nausea.

SLEEP. [37]

Deep sleep.
Sleep dreamy; wakes after midnight with dull headache; with restlessness and sexual desire.
Awoke suddenly with heavy, confused head, pressure in stomach, difficult breathing, fullness of bronchi, restless tossing; skin active, with slight warmth and even sweat.
Sleep dreamy with sudden waking after midnight, gouty and rheumatic pains increased.

TIME. [38]

Morning: pasty taste in mouth; scratching in throat; arms feel heavy.
After midnight: awakens with dull headache; restless; sexual desire increased; gouty and rheumatic pains agg.

TEMPERATURE AND WEATHER. [39]

Washing causes nosebleed.

LOCALITY AND DIRECTION. [42]

Right: swelling behind ear.
Left: upper lobe of lung congested.

SENSATIONS. [43]

As if a plug stuck in throat.
Boring: in arms and hand joints.
Tearing: in arms and hand joints.
Violent colic.
Pressive pain: in head.
Burning: in head; in fauces.
Pressure: in stomach; in abdomen.
Fullness: in stomach; in abdomen; in bronchi.
Heaviness in precordium.
Itching: on scrotum; on hands and feet.

SKIN. [46]

Dry, elevated pustules on inner surface of thighs.
