FERRUM SULPHURICUM

Ferrum Sulphuricum.

Sulphate of Iron; Copperas. Fe SO4, 7H2O.

The pure sulphate of iron prepared by trituration.

INNER HEAD. [3]

Severe vertigo. ~ Diarrhea.
Confusion of head and dull pain through head.
Heaviness and dull pain in upper part of forehead.
Severe burning and pain in head, with thirst.
Pressing, throbbing headache, agg. in forehead, with ringing in ears, and sensation as if all the blood were rushing into head and face; face scarlet red, glowing; amel. in fresh, open air; agg. in warm room; toothache. ~ Menorrhagia.

HEARING AND EARS. [6]

Pain apparently in walls of meatus auditorius externus.

TEETH AND GUMS. [10]

Violent, tearing toothache; teeth all sound; amel. from cold air, or application of ice upon cheek; headache. ~ Menorrhagia.

INNER MOUTH. [12]

Very troublesome soreness of soft palate.

PALATE AND THROAT. [13]

Taste of salt with smarting in throat.

APPETITE, THIRST. DESIRES, AVERSIONS. [14]

Bulimia, cannot be satisfied, thirst not marked. ~ Diarrhea.
Loss of appetite; aversion to meat. ~ Menorrhagia.

HICCOUGH, BELCHING, NAUSEA AND VOMITING. [16]

Eructation of flatus and food with acidity.
Sickness, with vomiting.

SCROBICULUM AND STOMACH. [17]

Sensation of fermentation or of a noise or movement like purring of a cat in region of stomach.
Cardialgia.
Gastritis with pain after eating and regurgitation of food by mouthfuls.
Inflammatory condition of membranes of stomach.

HYPOCHONDRIA. [18]

Pain in region of gall-bladder.

ABDOMEN AND LOINS. [19]

Colicky pains in abdomen.
Abdominal pains with flatulence and diarrhea.

STOOLS AND RECTUM. [20]

Watery, reddish-brown, odorless, painless diarrhea, with great paleness of skin, emaciation, vertigo, edema of scrotum and lower limbs, bulimia without thirst, venous murmurs.
Diarrhea, with pains in abdomen.
Constipation. ~ Menorrhagia.
Helminthiasis; tapeworm; ascarides.

URINARY ORGANS. [21]

Great weakness accompanying Bright's disease.
Bloody urine with albuminuria.

MALE SEXUAL ORGANS. [22]

Edema of scrotum and lower limbs.
Secondary gonorrhea.

FEMALE SEXUAL ORGANS. [23]

Menses copious, of five to six days' duration, with colic before and during time; headache frequently between menstrual periods; headache pressing, throbbing, especially in forehead, with ringing in ears, and sensation as if all the blood was rushing into head and face; face scarlet red, glowing; amel. in fresh, open air; agg. in warm room; often accompanied by violent, tearing toothache, teeth all sound; amel. in cold air, or from ice upon cheek; agg. in warmth; loss of appetite; aversion to meat; constipation. ~ Menorrhagia.
Metrorrhagia; leucorrhea.

HEART, PULSE AND CIRCULATION. [29]

Marked venous murmurs. ~ Chlorosis. ~ Diarrhea.

NECK AND BACK. [31]

Sensation on skin of back as if he wore a stout woolen flannel shirt.
Pain shooting down right side of back.

UPPER LIMBS. [32]

Arms bent at elbows, and fingers drawn towards forearm by flexure of wrist.
Hands yield to forcible extension, but immediately return to same condition.

LOWER LIMBS. [33]

(OBS:) Paralysis of lower extremities.
Knees slightly flexed; toes drawn upwards rigidly.
Pain in sole of left foot in middle of thick, fleshy, anterior part and at same time an aching pain through lower part of leg.

LIMBS IN GENERAL. [34]

Limbs very painful, especially feet and calves, where the pain in distracting.
Contractions in arms, hands and feet.

NERVES. [36]

Chorea.

TEMPERATURE AND WEATHER. [39]

Warmth: toothache agg.
Warm room: face red and glowing.
Cold air: toothache amel.
Ice: toothache amel.
Fresh open air: face red and glowing amel.

FEVER. [40]

Feeling of general heat and disposition to sweat with a sensation on skin of back as if he wore a stout woolen flannel shirt.

LOCALITY AND DIRECTION. [42]

Right: pain shooting down side of back.
Left: pain in sole of foot.

SENSATIONS. [43]

As if all the blood were rushing into head and face; sensation of fermentation, or of a noise or movement like purring of a cat in region of stomach; sensation on skin of back as if he wore a stout woolen shirt.
Pain: in head; in walls of meatus auditorius externus; after eating; in region of gall-bladder; in abdomen; shooting down right side of back; in sole of foot; in middle of thick, fleshy part; in lower limbs.
Distracting pain: in feet and calves.
Tearing pain: in tooth.
Colicky pains: in abdomen.
Throbbing: forehead.
Aching pain: through lower part of leg.
Smarting: in throat.
Burning: in head.
Soreness: of soft palate.
Feeling of general heat.
Dull pain: through head; in upper part of forehead.
Contractions: in arms; hands; in feet.
Pressing: forehead.
Confusion: of head.
Ringing: in ears.
Heaviness: in upper part of forehead.

TISSUES. [44]

Emaciation. ~ Diarrhea.
(OBS:) Local atony; disposition to congestions, nettle-rash, aphthae.
(OBS:) Relaxed condition of ligaments; joints easily dislocated; hernia.
Passive bloody or mucous flux, from genitals or alimentary canal.
Hydrops; scrofula.

SKIN. [46]

Great paleness of skin. ~ Diarrhea.

STAGE OF LIFE, CONSTITUTION. [47]

Boy, aet. thirteen months; diarrhea.
