MITCHELLA REPENS

Mitchella Repens.

Partridge Berry. Rubicaceae.

A small trailing evergreen (not to be confounded with gaultheria), bearing a scarlet berry; common throughout the United States.

The tincture is prepared from the fresh plant.

Provings by Duncan (U. S. M. and S. J., vol. 1, p. 252) and Hale (New Remedies, 2d ed., p. 714).

URINARY ORGANS. [21]

Increased quantity of urine, specific gravity as high as 1040, reaction acid.
Urging to urinate; urine high colored; white sediment.
Dull aching pain over region of kidneys.
Swollen and irritated condition of urethra and neck of bladder.
Catarrh of bladder, especially in women.
Dysuria accompanying uterine complaints.

FEMALE SEXUAL ORGANS. [23]

Engorged uterus; hemorrhage, bright in color, associated with dysuria.
Engorgement of uterus, from lack of tone in muscular wall of organ.
Amenorrhea; dysmenorrhea; menorrhagia.
Cervix engorged, dark red, swollen, associated with an irritation at neck of bladder, with urging to urinate.
Delayed menses.

Slow, feeble and inefficient labor pains.
