Dear subscriber,
reading Hahnemann's Organon and other articles by reliable old authors, many references to the necessity of optimal posology and dosage can be noted, but we are unaware of any one article that would summarise the guiding principles with sufficient clarity and detail. While we leave the question of potency to the best judgment of the practitioner, the principles of optimum dosage we deem universally applicable.
In this article, we provide the detailed information of methods of taking homeopathic remedies (with the main focus on "water dose" as first promulgated in the 5th edition of the Organon). We also provide clear guidelines for determining when to repeat and when not to repeat the dose, including a time table for the evaluation of the dosage decisions, based on intensity / acuteness of symptoms and their overall duration.
We would also like to anounce the addition of a new valuable resource – Catarrhal diseases of the nasal and respiratory organs by G. N. Brigham.
Inflammations of the mucous membranes of the nasal and respiratory organs occur very frequently, take on many forms and are often vexatious to treat. Brigham's monograph provides clear and concise characteristics for use of many of our remedies in this subset of diseases, making it very useful both for students of homeopathy and as a quick reference manual for a busy practitioner.

Q: How would you suggest to proceed in cases with clear pathology (such as chronic leucorrhea or eruptions on skin) but very little useful symptoms upon which to base the prescription? Let's assume the greatest care have been taken to take a complete case, the patient has been repeatedly interrogated, but there is still nothing characteristic to go about.
A: A defective case can be due to a defective doctor, a defective patient or a defective disease. Let’s assume in this case that it is the disease that is defective, as there is a paucity of characteristic symptoms to come up with a sure prescription despite a most thorough examination of the patient. ...
